Your adventure begins with a morning pickup from your hotel, followed by a trip to Brujo. Here, you'll encounter impressive pyramids that reflect the cosmological beliefs of the Mochica civilization. Located approximately 40 miles north in the charming town of Magdalena de Cao, we will pause briefly before continuing our journey.

As we travel through picturesque sugar cane fields, we will arrive at the site of the notable Mochica huacas: Cao, Partida, and Prieta. Marvel at the grand architecture and the iconic polychrome relief paintings illuminating the walls, which depict the customs and life of this ancient society.

Following a short rest, we will proceed to the Cao Museum, where rests the remains of the revered Mochica governess of Cao. Gain insights into her significant role in challenging the perception that only men held power within this historic culture. The mummy of the lady of Cao showcases impressive tattoos of snakes and spiders intricately preserved on her hands and ankles.

The artifacts recovered from archaeological digs include exquisite pieces of ceramics that illustrate the fauna of the time, alongside representations of deer hunting and sea lions, as well as textiles and baskets. A special section dedicated to human sacrifice rituals reveals depictions of captives and combat.
