Archaeological sites, beautiful pagodas and impressive Buddha statues: discover the magic of Bago on this excursion from Yangon.
Bago Tour
At 9 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Yangon and depart for Bago, previously known as Pegu and once the capital of southern Myanmar under the historic Hanthawaddy Kingdom.
Upon arrival in Bago, we will explore its streets and learn about its history. Our first stop will be the Shwemawdaw Pagoda, also known as the Golden God Temple. Discover the temple's intricate details and its stupa, which at 114 meters is the tallest in Myanmar.
Next, we will visit the Shwethalyaung Buddha, a large reclining Buddha statue measuring 55 meters in length, believed to have been built in 994.
We will then proceed to Bago's bustling market where you can purchase various local products, ideal for souvenirs from your trip to Myanmar.
Our tour continues to the Kanbawzathadi Palace, constructed for King Bayinnaung of the Toungoo Dynasty in the 16th century.
After the palace visit, we will return to Yangon, with an estimated drop-off at your hotel around 6 pm.
