Huánuco Pampa & La Unión Excursion

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Huanuco at 4 am and travel by minibus to the archaeological site of Huánuco Pampa.

The site, also called Wanuco Marka, houses numerous vestiges of an ancient and important Inca administrative center. During the tour, we'll admire the remains of a great citadel designed to protect the capital of Chinchaysuyo, one of the four main regions of the Inca empire.

The ancient city thrived between 1460 and 1536, with expansion slowing after the arrival of the Spaniards. We can still observe extensive rectangular enclosures known as kallankas. We'll explain their purpose during the tour.

After visiting Huánuco Pampa, we head to the nearby town of La Unión, where you'll have an hour free for lunch. Following lunch, we will embark on a sightseeing tour of the city, viewing sites including the Puente Mariscal Caceres bridge and the thermal baths of Tauripampa.

We'll return to Plaza de Armas in Huánuco, arriving at 7 pm.
