Sail along the course of the famous boiling river Mayantuyacu and learn all about the indigenous people living along its banks with this day trip from Puerto Inca.
Mayantuyacu River Day Trip
At 5:30 am, we'll meet at the Hospedaje Los Incas in Puerto Inca for the bus ride to the Mayantuyacu River, known as the Boiling River.
After a five-hour drive, we will board a boat to sail the turquoise waters of the Mayantuyacu River, which can reach temperatures of up to 93ºC (194ºF).
We'll learn about the mystical stories of this river, considered sacred by the indigenous people due to the healing properties of its waters and its importance as a water source. We will also visit the Mayantuyacu indigenous community and meet their shaman, who will explain some of their ancestral rituals.
At 12:30 pm, we'll have a traditional lunch prepared by the villagers. Following lunch, we will walk along the riverbanks to discover the reason behind the boiling waters of the Mayantuyacu River.
Finally, we will return to Puerto Inca, arriving around 7 pm.
