Mayantuyacu River Day Trip
At 5:30 am, we'll meet at the Hospedaje Los Incas in Puerto Inca to take the bus to the Mayantuyacu River, also known as the Boiling River.
After a five-hour drive, we'll board a boat to sail the turquoise waters of the Mayantuyacu River, where temperatures can reach up to 93ºC (194ºF). We'll learn about the mystical stories of this river, regarded by the indigenous people as a sacred place due to the healing power of its waters.
Next, we will visit the Mayantuyacu indigenous community, where we will meet their shaman, who will teach us about some of their ancestral rituals. At 12:30 pm, we will enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by the villagers. Following lunch, we will walk along the banks of the river to learn the reason behind the boiling waters.
Lastly, we'll return to Puerto Inca, arriving at around 7 pm.
