Puerto Inca Chocolate Making Workshop

In a nation brimming with flavors, chocolate holds a significant status in Peru. Various studies suggest that this country might be the origin of cocoa consumption. The tropical conditions here provide an ideal environment for the cocoa tree's growth, making its chocolate among the finest in the world.

This workshop in Puerto Inca immerses you in the culture of Peruvian cocoa. The experience commences at 8 am at Hospedaje Los Incas. Initially, we will accompany local producers to the cocoa farm.

At the farm, you will partake in the harvesting of ripe cocoa fruits. Before diving into the process, a leisurely lunch awaits, featuring either a soup or salad, a main course of meat or fish, accompanied by a refreshing fruit beverage.

Post-lunch, we will move to the workshop to extract the creamy pulp of the fruits, where the cocoa beans reside. Following this, it will be time to roast, peel, and crush the beans. After grinding, we will temper and mold the cocoa, resulting in a delightful, completely handcrafted chocolate.

To conclude the workshop, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful chocolate that you created yourself.

The session wraps up at 6 pm.
