Puerto Inca Chocolate Workshop

In Peru, chocolate holds a significant place, as some studies suggest it may be the birthplace of cocoa consumption. The tropical climate supports the cultivation of the cocoa tree, making its chocolate renowned for its taste.

This workshop in Puerto Inca covers all aspects of Peruvian cocoa culture. Participants will meet at 8 am at Hospedaje Los Incas to commence the experience. The first activity involves visiting the farm to pick ripe cocoa fruit.

A lunch break will follow, offering options of soup or salad, a meat or fish dish, and a fruit drink.

After lunch, the workshop begins with extracting the white pulp from the fruit to access the cocoa beans. Participants will then roast, peel, and crush the beans, followed by grinding, tempering, and molding the cocoa to create handmade chocolate.

The workshop concludes with a tasting of the chocolate created by participants. The session ends at 6 pm.
