Amazonian Cuisine Workshop

This culinary adventure invites you to join an exciting workshop dedicated to the distinctive flavors of Amazonian cooking, a tradition marked by its unique food culture that sets it apart from other regions in Peru. The cuisine here predominantly features fish along with a variety of fruits and vegetables like yucca, plantains, and chonta, all of which are readily available in the Peruvian jungle.

Our meeting point will be at 8 am at Hospedaje Los Incas, from where we will embark on our culinary journey. Initially, we will explore a local farm or plantation to select the finest fruits and vegetables for our upcoming preparations.

Afterwards, we will visit the local market to acquire fresh ingredients essential for our cooking session. Upon our return, it will be time to showcase our culinary talents. The menu will feature two starters, two main dishes, and a dessert, all while uncovering the rich history behind Amazonian culinary traditions and the unique qualities of each ingredient.

The starters will include Amazonian ceviche or chonta, a vibrant salad known for its traditional significance during Easter. You will have the option to select your preferred main dish from options such as fish stew, patarashca, tacacho, or inchicapi. Lastly, a dessert will be prepared, which will remain a delightful surprise until the day of the experience. Get ready!

After approximately 2.5 hours of culinary exploration, we will gather at the table to savor the exquisite dishes we’ve crafted, accompanied by a refreshing fruit beverage.

The workshop will wrap up after lunch, around 3 pm.
