In this pachamanca demonstration & tasting in Urubamba, you'll learn to prepare one of the most traditional dishes of Peruvian cuisine, witnessing an ancestral rite of the Andean World.
Pachamanca Demonstration & Tasting
The term pachamanca is derived from the Quechua language, meaning 'earth pot.' This reflects how this traditional Peruvian dish is prepared in the demonstration.
The meeting point is at the Tunupa Sacred Valley restaurant in Urubamba at 12 pm, where experts will guide us in preparing an authentic Peruvian pachamanca. The main ingredients will include tubers and meat, complemented by a variety of sauces and spices made from local products.
All ingredients will be placed into a pot and cooked in the traditional manner on heated stones. During the cooking process, participants will be served a refreshing pisco sour to enhance the experience.
Once the dish is ready, we will taste the pachamanca, served alongside salads. This experience will conclude the sharing of the pot following the ancestral rite of the Andean world.
The activity will finish at 2 pm.
