Tour of Royal Hill of Ambohimanga

We will pick you up at your hotel in Antananarivo at 8:30 am and travel in a comfortable minibus to the Royal Hill of Ambohimanga, located 14 miles (23 km) from the capital.

Upon arrival, we will explore Ambohimanga, including a visit to the citadel and the necropolis. The royal hill holds great historical and religious significance for Madagascar and is a symbol of Malagasy national identity.

You will learn about this unique archaeological site, designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We will walk through the Palace of Ambohimanga, one of the 12 sacred hills of Imerina, while listening to facts about this sacred place. It served as the residence of King Andrianaponimerina, who divided the kingdom into four parts.

After touring the Royal Hill of Ambohimanga, we will return to your hotel, concluding the tour around 12:30 pm.
