Pompeii + Herculaneum Day Trip

The eruption of Mount Vesuvius caused devastation to the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. This day trip will explore the history and remnants of these ancient cities.

Description

At the scheduled time, pickup will occur at your meeting point for a drive to the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, buried by volcanic material in 79 AD. Upon arrival at this archaeological site, you will participate in a guided tour of Pompeii lasting approximately 2 hours, visiting landmarks such as the House of the Faun, the Amphitheatre, and the House of Menander.

Questions regarding the daily life of Pompeii's citizens and their ability to foresee the eruption will be addressed during the tour. After visiting Pompeii, you will have 1 hour of free time for lunch in the area.

Following lunch, the excursion continues to Herculaneum, where you will explore its well-preserved sites, including the Casa dei Cervi and the Sacello degli Augustali. The experience includes a visit to a local cameo workshop before returning to the meeting points, completing the trip in approximately 8 hours after pickup.
