Description
We'll begin the Albi private tour by meeting at the Tourist Office at the scheduled time.
First, we'll visit Sainte Cecile Cathedral. This medieval temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, features notable Gothic style paintings and works of art. It is recognized as the largest brick cathedral in the world, with impressive vault decorations and sidewalls depicting the Creation, the Last Judgement, and the Resurrection.
The tour will continue to the Palais de la Berbie. This 13th-century palace, which was once the bishop's residence, now houses the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum. The renowned post-impressionist painter was born in Albi, and we will see several of his canvases along with the gardens of the Palais de la Berbie.
Then, we will walk through the historic center and along the banks of the Tarn to the Pont Vieux, which began construction in 1040 and is considered one of the oldest bridges in France.
The tour will conclude 2 hours after the start of the activity.
