Salinas del Gualicho Trip

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up in Las Grutas before heading to Salinas del Gualicho: the second largest depression in Argentina.

Upon arrival at these salt deposits, we will observe their vast dimensions. Located 236 feet below sea level, the salt flats cover an area of 166 square miles. During our tour, we will learn about some of the 8000 uses of salt.

We will visit the industrial area where salt crystals are harvested and packed, and see salt piles that can accumulate up to 450,000 tons. Following these visits, we will witness a sunset over the Salinas del Gualicho.

While watching the sunset, a Creole dinner will be served outdoors, including chicken with vegetables, bread, wine, mineral water, coffee, and a dessert. After dinner, we will observe the stars with telescopes and other astronomical instruments.

Eventually, we will return to Las Grutas, arriving back at the original starting point between 10 pm and midnight, depending on the time of year.
