Tour Overview

Day 1

At the appointed time, we will collect you from your accommodation in João Pessoa to initiate our adventure, immersing ourselves in the beauty of Brazilian nature amidst the distinctive scenery of the Caatinga. This fascinating biome is exclusive to Brazil, showcasing whitish vegetation alongside diverse flora and fauna. Let’s begin our exploration!

After a drive of approximately 112 miles (180 kilometers), we will reach our first destination: the Archeological Complex of Pedra do Altar located in Barra de Santana. Here, we will set out on a 0.9-mile (1.5-kilometer) trek towards the Paraíba River.

During our trek, we will visit archeological sites that once served as dwelling places for the Tapuia indigenous communities, with remnants still visible today. As we explore, witness calderas, natural pools, and enchanting waterfalls, creating a serene haven in the caatinga.

On our way back, we will enjoy lunch at the restaurant within the archeological complex. Following this, we’ll proceed to our next stop of the day: Lajedo do Marinho, known for its stunning rock formations sculpted by natural forces over the ages. Relish the spectacular views as the sun dips beyond the horizon!

We will then settle down for the night at a camping site where you’ll spend the evening in tents, gather around a bonfire, and gaze at the vast starry sky, free from the disturbances of urban light.

Day 2

The next morning, we will kick off the day with a refreshing breakfast before embarking on a 3.1-mile (5-kilometer) trek along the Trilha de Antonio Conselheiro.

This hike allows us to continue discovering the remarkable rock formations and landscapes as we pass by memorable sites like Lajedo dos Esquecidos, Pedra do Hambúrguer, Pedra da Coxinha, and the Trono de Deus.

Once we complete the trail, we will take a break for lunch before packing our camp and making our way back to João Pessoa.

We expect to reach your hotel in João Pessoa by around 6:30 p.m.

Campsite Information

This private tour includes an overnight stay at a campsite, where you will enjoy restful nights in a tent complete with mattresses and bedding.
