Guatavita & Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá Tour

After pickup from your chosen meeting point in Bogotá, we will head north for 2-2.5 hours to the town of Guatavita. Here, we will embark on a 20 to 30-minute route around the town, followed by a 2-hour walk with a Spanish-speaking guide to explore Guatavita Lagoon, where Indigenous Peoples made offerings to Chie, the goddess of water, related to the legend of El Dorado.

Post-visit, we will travel northwest for 1 to 1.5 hours to Zipaquirá, where you will have 1 hour for lunch. After regrouping, you will have 2 hours to explore the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá with an audio guide in English. This church is located 590 feet (180 meters) deep in salt mines exploited since 1801.

Afterward, we will return to Bogotá, with a travel time of 1.5 to 2 hours.
