On our day trip to the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, we'll discover one of the most fascinating underground monuments in the world.

Day Trip Details

We'll meet at the pickup point in Bogotá and head northbound to Zipaquirá. The drive will take between 1.5 to 2 hours.

Upon arrival, you'll have 2 hours of free time in the Salt Cathedral, located 590 feet (180 metres) underground. Inside, you can admire the various sculptures and crosses made from salt and marble elements. You'll explore notable features such as the choir, the Stations of the Cross, and the water mirrors, learning about the temple's history. It was named the first of the Seven Wonders of Colombia in 2007.

Next, you'll have 1 hour of free time in Zipaquirá for lunch and exploring the historic center, including the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and its picturesque colonial-style buildings. Depending on availability, you might also enjoy typical Colombian tastings.

Finally, we'll return to Bogotá.
