Dracula's Castle & Peles Castle Day Trip from Bucharest

Delve deep into the beautiful mountain landscapes of Transylvania and Wallachia on this full-day trip from Bucharest. Explore Bran, known as Dracula's Castle, and the Peles palace-castle.

Day Trip Details

After being picked up from your chosen meeting point or hotel in Bucharest, we will head north through the forests of Transylvania.

Our first stop will be in Sinaia, where we will visit the imposing Peles Castle, used by the Romanian royal family as their summer residence. You'll tour its halls, decorated in the style of the late 19th century.

Next, we will proceed to the historic city of Bra?ov. You will have 1.5 hours of free time to explore the historic center or dine at local restaurants.

After lunch, we’ll visit Bran Castle, where you will learn about Vlad III “the Impaler,” the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula. You will discover how this figure became associated with Transylvania.

Following your exploration of Bran Castle, we will return to Bucharest, admiring scenic views along the way.

Admission Tickets

Tickets are not included in the tour price. We recommend purchasing them in advance, especially on weekends and public holidays. Book at least 7 days in advance, but no earlier than 30 days before the visit. Last-minute bookings may result in unavailable tickets for Peles Castle; you may then opt for Peli?or Castle.

Entrance to Peles Castle requires a time slot between 9 am and 11 am.Entrance to Bran Castle requires the 3 pm time slot.

Itinerary Changes

Peles Castle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. If your tour occurs on these days, we will view the fortress from the outside and visit an exhibition on medieval torture instruments in Bran instead.

The itinerary is subject to change based on traffic and seasonal events. Expect longer wait times during peak season. Peles Castle will also undergo cleaning and maintenance on certain days in November to December 2026; Peli?or Castle may be visited instead, while you still have free time at the Peles Castle grounds.
