Chefchaouen to Akchour: Private 2 or 4 Day Hike

Hike Details

Day 1: Chefchaouen – Azilane

Meet at the Hotel Madrid in Chefchaouen and embark on the trek. The hiking trail lasts around seven hours with planned stops. The first section, about three hours, goes through Talassemtane National Park. There is a stop for a picnic lunch in the biosphere reserve. The second four-hour stretch takes us through the small village of Afeska, ending the day in Azilane with dinner and overnight in a mountain lodge.

Day 2: Azilane – Akchour – Chefchaouen

After breakfast, the five-hour trek leads to the famous God's Bridge and the Akchour Waterfalls. A picnic lunch is included before heading to Akchour, where the trek ends at 5:15 pm. A taxi ride back to Chefchaouen takes 45 minutes and costs around 18 USD (22 EUR) for up to four people.

4-Day Route

For the four-day option, the first day's route is the same. On the second day, we hike from Azilane to Taourarte, an eight-hour trek through beautiful landscapes. Dinner and overnight stay are at a rural lodge in Taourarte. On the third day, the trek to Akchour lasts eight hours, with a lunch break in nature and a visit to the Akchour waterfalls. Dinner and overnight stay are in a mountain lodge in Akchour. On the fourth day, a six-hour trek back to Chefchaouen includes a picnic and a guided tour of the city, concluding at 6 pm.
