3 Day Merzouga Desert Private Day Trip

This 3-day trip to Merzouga from Fez provides an opportunity to experience the authentic Moroccan Sahara Desert and its culture.

3-Day Tour Details

Day 1: Fez - Ifrane - Azrou - Erfoud - Merzouga

Depart Fez at 8 am to the village of Merzouga, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains. Visit Ifrane, known for its architecture, and Azrou, an important town in the Atlas region. Travel through the Ziz Valley and past villages like Midelt and Erfoud, arriving in Merzouga for the first night.

Day 2: Enjoying Merzouga Desert

On the second day, explore the Eastern Sahara in a 4x4, visiting nomad settlements, stunning oases, and the Erg Chebbi dunes. Visit the village of Khamlia to experience Gnawa music. In the evening, ride camels into the dunes and spend the night in a Berber tent.

Day 3: Rissani - Ziz Valley - Middle Atlas - Fez

Wake early for a sunrise atop a dune, then return to Merzouga for breakfast and a shower. The return trip includes stops at Tafilalt and Rissani, noted for its connection to the Alawite dynasty. The tour ends in Fez in the late afternoon.

The standard category haimas accommodate up to 4 people; luxury haimas up to 5. Both categories have private bathrooms. Note that some standard camps may offer shared bathrooms during high season. There are no options for single occupancy, but triple or family rooms are available.
