Assisi and Perugia Day Trip

Would you like to discover the treasures of the Umbria region? On this day trip from Florence, you’ll explore two of its most iconic cities: Perugia and Assisi.

Day Trip Details

We’ll meet at the scheduled time in Piazzale Montelungo, in the heart of Florence. After gathering, we’ll leave Tuscany and head into the Umbria.

Our first stop will be Perugia, where you’ll have free time to explore landmarks such as Piazza IV Novembre, the Fontana Maggiore, and the Cathedral. You can also visit Rocca Paolina and the Chocolate Museum, famed for its chocolate.

Following your time in Perugia, we’ll proceed to Assisi. We'll explore the medieval streets with a guide, visiting the Basilica of Saint Francis to view frescoes by Giotto, Cimabue, and Simone Martini. Following the tour, you'll have free time to visit the Basilica of Saint Clare, see the tomb of Carlo Acutis, or relax in the main square.

Before returning to Florence, we’ll visit the Papal Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels, which houses the Porziuncola, the chapel where the Franciscan movement began.

This 11-hour excursion concludes with a return to the meeting point in Florence.
