At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel to start this guided tour of Mahébourg. You'll be introduced to its cultural and historical heritage.

First, we'll visit the National Museum of History of Mahébourg, where we'll learn about the maritime past of the region and the battles between the French and the British in the 19th century. The museum is housed in an old French-style colonial building dating back to 1772.

Next, we'll explore the Waterfront, Mahébourg's promenade. Here, we'll walk along the waterfront, admire the surroundings, and discover the history of the Battle of the Grand Harbour and life for the locals.

Nearby, the central market of Mahébourg features various stalls with fruits, handicrafts, musical instruments, and textiles made on the island.

Our tour continues at the Rault biscuit factory, where Mauritian cassava cookies have been produced since 1870. We'll tour the facilities for about an hour and learn about this traditional pastry.

We will then visit Pointe Canon, a monument commemorating the abolition of slavery on the island. Finally, we will enjoy a traditional full-course meal at a local restaurant before dropping you back at your hotel, concluding 8 hours of exploration.
