Alvarado & Tlacotalpan Trip
At 8 am, pickup will occur at your hotel in Boca del Rio before heading south to the coastal town of Alvarado. This community is located at the mouth of the Blanco and Papaloapan rivers, where its main industry is fishing. A guided stroll through the streets will provide insights into the history of Pedro de Alvarado, founder of the city.
A boat ride on the Papaloapan River follows, allowing views of the lush landscapes along the riverbanks.
The next destination is the city of Tlacotalpan, noted for its fusion of Caribbean and Spanish culture. A guided tour will cover emblematic sites like the Church of the Virgin of the Candelaria and the House-Museum of musician and poet Agustín Lara.
Another boat ride on the Papaloapan River will offer more views of the area.
Approximately 2 hours of free time for lunch will allow you to experience the local cuisine at one of Tlacotalpan's restaurants. After lunch, transport will return you to your hotel in Boca del Rio, arriving around 6 pm.
