Tuxtlas and Catemaco Excursion
Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Boca del Río at 8 am, followed by a scenic drive towards Santiago Tuxtla.
This charming town is renowned for housing the largest Olmec head in southern Mexico. We will meander through the picturesque Benito Juárez Central Park until we reach this impressive stone monument, where your guide will share its intriguing history.
Next, we will continue our journey to one of the region's most stunning natural wonders, the Eyipantla waterfall. Enjoy a leisurely hike amid the thriving jungle flora before arriving at the base of this breathtaking 160-ft waterfall.
After taking in the beauty of the cascades, we will proceed to the town of Catemaco for an enchanting boat ride on the Laguna Encantada (Enchanting Lake). Glide through the mangroves and discover small islands teeming with wildlife. Keep an eye out for spider monkeys, macaques, and a plethora of native birds.
Following the boat ride, we will return to the mainland, where you will have around 1.5 hours of free time to enjoy a meal at one of the delightful local restaurants (meal costs not included).
Recharged, we will make our way back to Boca del Río, arriving at your hotel around 8:30 pm.
