We'll meet at the time indicated at the Peixe Seco Museum to start this guided walking tour of Nazaré, discovering the town and its monuments.
At the Peixe Seco Museum, we'll learn about the importance of fishing in Nazaré and how the technique of drying fish has been fundamental to the local economy.
Next, we'll head through the Nazaré market to the Pederneira Casa Museu do Pescador, where we'll view the fishermen's ancient tools, traditional outfits and photographs that illustrate the community's history.
Afterwards, we'll visit Casal das Figueiras, taking a walk around its gardens and enjoying views of the Atlantic.
We'll then use the Elevador da Nazaré to travel from the center of the town to Sitio, an elevated area offering impressive views of gigantic waves renowned among surfers. From there, we'll proceed to the Ermida da Memoria, a sanctuary with sea views.
Finally, we'll visit the São Miguel Arcanjo Sanctuary and Fort, learning about the town's military history as we observe the impressive walls. The tour will conclude after walking between 2.5 and 4.5 km (1.5 to 2.7 miles) at the initial meeting point.
