Ticket to the Ensérune Archaeological Site

Why visit the Ensérune site?

Positioned atop a hill in the Roman oppidum style, the Ensérune archaeological site is a must-see destination in the Hérault region of Occitania. Your entrance ticket allows you to explore remnants of this ancient Gallic settlement, including the remains of a silo.

Your ticket includes entry to the Ensérune Archaeological Museum, which exhibits seven centuries of history of the settlement, featuring influences from the Celts, Iberians, Greeks, Etruscans, and Romans. The museum offers models and 3-D reconstructions of archaeological remains and a recreation of the workspace of Felix Mouret, the archaeologist who excavated the site in 1916.

Visitors can also enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from the site, covering the Cévennes to the Pyrenees and the Languedoc plain toward the Mediterranean coast.

Opening hours

Ensérune archaeological site is open during the following times:

April to September: Open daily, except Mondays (excluding Monday holidays), 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2 pm to 6:30 pmOctober to March: Open Wednesday to Sunday, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2 pm to 5:30 pm

Last admission is one hour before closing. On December 24 and 31, closing time is at 4 pm. Schedules are subject to adjustments.
