Sicily Tour: Palermo to Taormina

Day 1: Palermo

We'll meet in the evening at the hotel in Palermo for our first dinner. Afterwards, we will unwind, preparing for the tour to start the following morning.

Day 2: Monreale and Palermo

After breakfast, we will head to Monreale, located 6 miles (10 kilometers) south of Palermo, where you can explore the old quarter and admire the cathedral. Next, we will return to Palermo to see its beautiful streets and visit the historic cathedral. Dinner will be served at the same hotel as the first night.

Day 3: Erice, Saline della Laguna and Agrigento

We will visit Erice, a town situated 2460 feet (750 meters) above sea level, known for its ancient walls. Following a guided tasting session at a local winery along with lunch, we will travel to Agrigento to visit the Valley of the Temples (entrance included), a UNESCO site. Dinner will take place at our hotel in Agrigento.

Day 4: Piazza Armerina and Ragusa

On our fourth day, we will explore Piazza Armerina and visit the Villa del Casale, a Roman villa recognized as a UNESCO site. Later, we will visit Ragusa and explore its historical center, including prominent churches and the Cosentini Palace.

Day 5: Noto and Siracusa

Our journey continues to Noto, an example of a Baroque city, before heading to Siracusa to visit the archaeological site (tickets included). We will see the Roman amphitheater and the Greek theater. Our day concludes in Taormina.

Day 6: Taormina

On our final full day, we will visit Mount Etna, one of the most active volcanoes globally, with a possible climb to nearly 6,000 feet (1,800 meters). In the afternoon, we will return to Taormina for exploration and dinner at the hotel.

Day 7: Taormina

After breakfast, we conclude our 7-day tour of Sicily.
