Sal Island Lemon Sharks Sighting

In this activity, you'll observe the fascinating lemon sharks of Sal Island from a close distance. These friendly yellow-skinned sharks are harmless to humans.

Description

Pickup from your hotel in Santa Maria will occur between 2:10 pm and 2:40 pm for a visit to Shark Bay, known for its lemon shark habitat. The lemon sharks are named for their yellowish appearance caused by light reflecting off the water. They typically measure between 8 feet and 9 feet (2.5 and 3 meters) in length and are completely safe to be around. You will have the opportunity to dip your feet in the shallow waters where baby lemon sharks gather while larger ones will be observed from a close distance. You will also learn interesting facts about this species. If you prefer, you can watch the sharks from the shoreline while relaxing on the sands of Shark Bay.

After this experience, we will return to Santa Maria, with an estimated arrival at your hotel around 4:30 pm.
