Balboa Park Guided Tour

On this guided tour of Balboa Park, we'll visit one of San Diego's landmarks, strolling through the gardens, admiring architectural treasures, and learning about their history.

Tour Details

At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the designated meeting point and begin our walk through Balboa Park. Founded in 1868 by Alonzo Horton, Balboa Park encompasses 1,400 acres (566 hectares) and has been the site of many significant events. During our tour, we'll explore these moments and discover the park's heritage.

One of our first stops will be the California Tower, built for the Panama-California Exposition of 1915. We'll continue to the Alcazar Garden, inspired by Spanish gardens of the same name.

Next, we'll walk along El Prado, the park's main thoroughfare, enjoying the facades of unique buildings and visiting Zoro Gardens, the park's butterfly garden. Our next stop will be the Spanish Village Art Centre, where we'll see artists at work.

We'll take a refreshing coffee break in the park before continuing. Next, we'll visit the Botanical Building, the largest wooden lattice structure when built for the 1915 Exposition.

Finally, we'll reach Plaza de Panama and conclude our guided tour of Balboa Park after two hours of sightseeing.
