If you're a wine lover and you're planning to visit Santiago de Chile, you can't miss the Undurraga winery, one of the oldest and most traditional in the country. Undurraga was established in the Maipo Valley in 1885, when Don Francisco Undurraga began planting grapes from France and Germany. The first name of the place was Santa Ana, in honor of the farmer's wife, until he changed it to the couple's surname.
Undurraga was one of the first wineries to plant grapes from abroad and export the wine abroad. In 1903, the United States was the first country to receive the winery's pinot wines. Since then, Undurraga has become one of Chile's most recognized and awarded brands, with a presence in more than 70 countries. Over the years, the winery has undergone several transformations and modernizations, but without losing its essence and tradition.
Today, Undurraga produces around 25 million liters of wine a year, with different lines and varieties that cater to the most diverse palates.
