Silvia Moorland Hike

Enjoy the typical landscapes of the Colombian department of Cauca on this hiking route through the Silvia moorland. We'll see high mountains and even participate in an ancestral rite!

Silvia Moorland Hike

At 7 am, we'll meet at Parque Principal, the main park of Silvia, to start a hike that will take us to discover the beautiful landscapes of the surroundings of this town.

During booking, you can choose between a 4 or 9-hour hiking tour. Each option provides ample time to explore local flora and fauna and take photos of the Silvia moorland.

Throughout the hike, we'll follow an ancestral trail that historically connected the Colombian departments of Cauca and Huila. Participants will encounter small springs and high mountains and several specimens of frailejones, a key shrub in the area, which can take up to 100 years to grow to 2 meters.

If you select the 9-hour route, we will also engage in a ritual of the Misak tribe, making an offering to Mother Earth.

The hike will conclude at the starting point at 11 am for the 4-hour tour and at 4 pm for the 9-hour tour.
