Free Tour of Sofia
We will meet at the Palace of Justice to begin the tour. The route will take us through the old town, showcasing Sofia's history and architectural diversity. Key stops include the Sveta Nedelya church, the coat of arms of Sofia, and the hermitage of Sveta Petka with its unique stone façade.
The tour also includes Roman ruins and the Banya Bashi Mosque, significant to the Ottoman legacy of Sofia. We will visit the Sofia Synagogue and discuss events from the Second World War, alongside notable sites such as the Sofia Museum, Bath House, Bulgarian Communist Party headquarters, Parliament, Ivan Vazov National Theatre, and the Royal Palace. We will conclude at the Church of St. Sophia, which inspired the city's name, and visit the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, recognized as one of the most beautiful Orthodox buildings, completing our 2-hour tour.
