Herculaneum Day Trip

Meet us at Piazza Giovanni Battista de Curtis, and we'll leave Sorrento behind for a trip to Ancient Rome. Onward to discover the ruins of Herculaneum!

To kick things off, we'll board a train that will take us directly to this Roman city devastated by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 BC. Upon arrival, we'll enjoy a guided tour of the archaeological site of Herculaneum, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

During the tour, we'll learn about the city's history and the daily life of its inhabitants. A town frozen in time, we'll view mosaics, taverns, terrains, houses, and even skeletons during the visit.

In addition, Herculaneum has numerous frescoes that decorate the walls of the buildings that have been remarkably preserved. We'll enter the House of Neptune and Amphitrite, the House of the Deer, and the Headquarters of the Augustal Priests.

Following our visit to Herculaneum, we'll return to the train station to go back to Sorrento, concluding this 4-hour adventure.
