Herculaneum Day Trip

Meet us at Piazza Giovanni Battista de Curtis, and we'll leave Sorrento for a trip to Ancient Rome to discover the ruins of Herculaneum.

We'll board a train that takes us directly to this Roman city devastated by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 BC. Upon arrival, we will enjoy a guided tour of the archaeological site of Herculaneum, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

During the tour, we'll learn about the city's history and the daily life of its inhabitants, frozen in time. We will view mosaics, taverns, terrains, houses, and even skeletons during the visit.

Herculaneum features numerous frescoes that decorate the buildings, which have been well-preserved. We will enter the House of Neptune and Amphitrite, the House of the Deer, and the Headquarters of the Augustal Priests.

After our visit to Herculaneum, we will return to the train station for the return to Sorrento, concluding this 4-hour adventure.
