Tangier Day Trip from Tarifa

On this day trip to Tangier, we'll take a ferry from Tarifa, Spain to discover one of the most fascinating cities in the north of Morocco. We'll be in Europe and Africa in one day!

Day Trip Details

An hour before the indicated time, we'll meet at the Information Office in the port of Tarifa and, from there, we'll set sail on a ferry that will take us to the port of Tangier in just 50 minutes. Once there, we will start the guided tour of the modern city, which will fascinate you from the very first minute!

First up, we'll visit Cape Espartel, where we can witness the union of the waters of the Mediterranean Sea with those of the Atlantic Ocean. From there, we'll enter one of the Caves of Hercules. Did you know that the ancient Greeks believed that Hercules slept here for a night?

There, we'll leave you some free time to take your souvenir photos or, if you wish, take a short camel ride.

We'll continue the excursion in the Kasbah, the highest part of the Medina of Tangier, where we'll contemplate the Sultan's Palace and the wonderful views of the Strait of Gibraltar.

Then, we'll stroll through the Medina, passing by the Mendoubia gardens, the vegetable market, and the Tangier Synagogue. At the latter, we'll admire its impressive architecture that fuses Jewish and Moroccan elements. We'll also learn about the rich history of the Jewish community in Tangier.

In the vicinity of the temple, we'll enjoy the best possible break with a typical Moroccan lunch consisting of harira soup, beef kebabs, couscous, green tea, and pastries, all accompanied by live traditional music!

After lunch, we'll leave you about 40 minutes for shopping and souvenir hunting. At the end of this time, we'll reconvene for the return journey.

Finally, we'll say goodbye at the starting point after a total of 9 hours of hiking.
