Venice's Ducal Palace Legends and Mysteries Tour

The former residence of the Doge of Venice reveals many enigmas. This tour explores the mysteries and legends of the Ducal Palace and includes entry to the museums at the Piazza San Marco.

Description

Participants will meet at Campo San Gallo to start the tour of the former residence of the Doge of Venice. The tour begins with the significance of the mysterious pink columns, followed by a visit to the anti-chamber where former ambassadors were entertained. Next, the tour proceeds to the bedroom of the three leaders to reveal a surprising legend.

While admiring works by Titian and Tintoretto, the group will uncover more secrets of Venice's Ducal Palace. The tour includes crossing the Bridge of Sighs, noted for the lamentations of convicts. A highlight is learning about Casanova's escape and interrogation methods from that period.

The tour lasts 50 minutes, concluding at the main entrance to the Ducal Palace.

Entry to the Piazza San Marco Museums

After the Ducal Palace tour, priority access tickets will be provided for the museums in Piazza San Marco: Correr Museum, Archaeological Museum, and National Martian Library. These museums will be visited without a guide.

Visits to the Correr Museum can occur on the same day as the tour or the following day. The other museums may be visited on any day, noting that the National Martian Library closes on Sundays.

Entry to each museum is allowed only once.
