What is a Discover Scuba Dive (Try Dive)?

Many of the diving experiences we recommend in the UK and around the world will be what’s known as a Discover Scuba Dive or Try Dive. The name gives you a pretty clear idea—but let’s dive a bit deeper (pun intended). A Discover Scuba Dive is the first hands-on experience with diving. It includes a short theory session, where you’ll learn the basics and get familiar with the equipment, followed by a guided underwater dive—always under the close supervision of a professional instructor. At the end, you receive a certificate of participation. It’s the perfect way to see if diving is something you want to pursue further.

What is PADI?
